Fun Lovin Half Dozen

Wow! I definitely got the worst of the illness that hit our house. I threw up every 20-30 minutes for 14 hours straight! YUCK! We are all better now, with the exception of the lovely cold sores I have all around my mouth. I get them every single time I get sick and they seem to get worse each time. I think my lips are scared from these.

So...my sweet little baby turned 11 months old yesterday! She will be a year old in less than a month? Holy Moly!!! My mom, sister (her fam), and Hunter will not be here for her birthday because my dad is supposed to return home from Iraq on February 18th! They are driving up to Washington to welcome him back to American soil! Therefore, her birthday is an extra special day this year. I think we are going to hold off on her birthday party for a couple of weeks until my fam can make it home to Utah and then party, party, party!
I'm thinking of having a lollipop birthday party for Rosie Dosie Dew...tons of ideas, I can't wait to get working on it. I think it would be so much fun to have a candy buffet, but holy expensive!

I took some pictures today of the two little girls in their adorable shirts I made for them. I've tried to take pictures of Ellie every month around the 18th...sometimes it happens, other times it just doesn't.

I usually don't toot my own horn, but 'TOOT! TOOT!' I am in love with their shirts. I think they turned out adorable. Unfortunately, I don't think they will last long, as both girls have been working diligently to pick the buttons off. Luckily they are glued and sewn on...so they might last another couple wearings.

The Tiny Ickies

It's poor Ellie's turn to be sick today. As the kids were veggin' out on the couch watching a movie, I went into my bathroom to wash my face. (I gave up the idea of trying to get a shower today...) Mid-face wash, Hunter came running in the room and told me to "come quick". I soon discovered my little Rosie on the couch covered in the ukie pukies.

Fast forward to just minutes ago...Rosie was sitting on my lap, when she suddenly took out her binky and looked up at me. I grabbed the garbage can and she proceeded to throw up in it. Poor tiny little baby, but it was so darn cute. Who would have thought a tiny little 10 month old would be throwing up in a bucket?

She wants to cuddle, but every time I put her into 'position' (aka when I try to cradle her) she spits out the binky and tries to nurse. Not that I can blame her, I am sure she is starving.

Harmonie is still really sick today, too. She threw up so hard that she burst the blood vessels in her eyes! I'm preparing myself for the fact that I will have it tomorrow, probably around 10am. I have a fun class to attend at 1pm...anyone want to wager a bet?

One's Ten and One's Walking

Can you believe this little girl made me a mommy 10 years ago? I can't! I just don't feel old enough to have a ten year old. Oh wait...I'm not! LOL!

We had a great friend party for her earlier in December where we made bracelets, bookmarks, and candy necklaces. It was pretty funny to see her interact with her friends. As the girls were doing their crafts at the kitchen table, they saw some boys from their class walking around the park. The girls ran out on the deck and started calling to the boys. We finally had to close all the blinds so the girls would finish their projects and leave the boys alone. My girl has quite the attitude...I don't think I'm ready to throw boys into the mix!

On a different note, this sweet little angel baby started walking today. She's been walking around furniture for quite some time, but she refused to stand up unassisted. Today, she was getting jealous of the attention her sis was getting (FiFi has been throwing up), so she decided to take the straight path to me, rather than walking around everything. Then she walked back and forth between me and Big A. I was so excited, I ran and grabbed the camera to record it, and when I got back she refused to even stand up. Little stinker!

I'm kind of excited that she's walking...hoping it brings a tab bit more independence. I figure she can't get into anything walking that she can't get into now.

I have some really fun projects planned and was hoping to get started on them tonight, but we had the ickies around here lately. Hunter started throwing up on Tuesday night and FiFi started throwing up this evening. The poor little girl has thrown up about 15 times and has nothing left in her little body. She can't even sit up when she starts to throw up.

I can't wait to share the adorable little Valentine's shirts I'm making for my girls. Buttons! Buttons! Buttons!

I'm Back...

As I sit here watching breaking news about a mother who supposedly sold her eight month old baby to a couple to prevent the baby's father from having anything to do with him, a smidgeon of reality hit. It really sank in when I heard my fuzzy blond baby crying in her bedroom. I jumped off the bed and took off to her room to find her on all fours, bare feet sticking through her crib slats, and her dazzling blue eyes staring up at me. As I held her and she nuzzled into my neck, my mind wandered...I AM a good MOM, I AM a good WIFE. I AM a good Person. I HAVE a good HEART.

The past year was more difficult for me than I could have ever imagined.

I struggled,
I cried,
I screamed,
I wanted to give up,
I tried to give up,
I endured!

It's a new year, and while I have to admit, I did not make any real resolutions...I pondered, I daydreamed, I doodled, and then I decided. My ultimate goal for the new year is simple. I just want to be HAPPY! I know that if I work towards accomplishing this one simple resolution, my other goals and desires will fall happily into place.
